“The people of Jammu and Kashmir will settle for nothing short of the reversal of the revocation of Article 370 to its original form and a settlement of the vexed Kashmir Issue acceptable to Indo –Pak and the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Enough is enough and war was no answer to this problem where nobody is the winner. The leadership of Jammu and Kashmir are united and will be working as one, irrespective of individual considerations as was exhibited on 4th August 2019 under the Gupkar Declaration,” he said.

 

The detained leaders stressed upon the urgency of restoring of fundamental Rights of the people of Kashmir trampled under the guise of National security,Immediate release of former Chief Ministers,MLA’s,Trade unionists,Bar association members, business leaders and thousands of youngsters lodged under precarious conditions in and outside jails of Jammu and Kashmir. Keeping a senior Member of Parliament of the currentLokSabha under detention was a blot on democracy. Kashmir has suffered a loss of 20,000 Crores due to the childish decision of NarinderModi Government with Education, Tourism, Trade and Exports badly hit.

 

A detailed discussion lasting for two hours covered the nineteen page document released by Begum Khalida shahestablishing that the Governor,the Govt. of India,the Parliament,nor the President of India can Amend,Repeal or Abrogate Article 370 nor can the State of Jammu and Kashmir be dismembered into Union Territories.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe Prime Minister,Home Minister and Mos in PMO were liable for misleading and misrepresenting of facts on the historic events of J&K State and its relationship with the Union of India under Article 370 made on the floor of Parliament during discussion on the Bill for Abrogation of Article 370 on 5th August 2019. A copy of theopen letter to the Prime Minister of India by the ANC Chief was also given to the visiting team that covers matters of grave concern for the people of J&K, starting from the conditional instrument of accession, the truth behind the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and a sustained campaign to portray Kashmiri Muslims as villains throughout the world. The visiting team informed the detained leaders that thesedocuments are highly appreciable and will be put up at all relevant forms. The NC Addl General Secretary Dr Mustafa Kamal gave a detailed presentation on the back ground of accession of the State with the Union of India, the betrayal of 1953, 1975 Indira Abdullah accord and the situation in the State from 1989 onwards.

 

Begum Khalida Shah thanked Mani Shankar Aiyer and O.P Shah for organizing the round table on Kashmir scheduled for tomorrowto get a firsthand account of the miseries being faced by people of Kashmir.She hoped that the real picture will be put before the proper forums and remedial measures will be undertaken to unravel the truth about Kashmir before the Nation and expose the unethical,unconstitutional, undemocratic, violation of civil liberties and basic fundamental and constitutional rights of the masses by actions of the BJP Government that is using Kashmir for its vote bank politics.The people of Kashmir have exhibited a tremendous maturity by their calm in facing this extraordinary situation in their history and will continue doing so.
