Srinagar, Sep 29 (KNS): Congress leader Imtiyaz Khan visited SMHS hospital and met the patients and heard their grvainces regarding inadequate infrastructure and patient- care.
Khan said that patients are facing lot of hardships and problems in the hospital due to less nursing manpower and other equipment.
He said the hospital is lacking ventilators as only 5 ventilators are functional as against the requirements 25.
He said there is burning news of ventilators in the hospital.
"Besides the hospital is reeling under less staff with the result patients are not being looked after properly during their stay in the hospital," he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said the Wards are looked after only by two attendants each which is not sufficient and increased the burden on nursing staff and leave patients unattended.
The Congress leader censured the NC legislators in whose constituencies the hospital falls for not contributing funds from their CDF for improvement in infrastructure and equipment.
Khan appealed the government to pay due consideration to the hospital for its upliftiment in infrastructure and enhance the medial staff for providing adequate care to patients. (KNS)
