Blames BJP, PDP for present Kashmir situation

 Jammu, July 18 (KNS): Congress Monday held a strong protest demonstration here today to express strong resentment over the prevailing situation in the Kashmir Valley due to mishandling of the situation by the State and Centre Govt. and the Pakistan’s direct and open interference to fuel further trouble besides failure of the Govt. to ensure fool proof security and adequate arrangements to Shri Amarnath Yatris.
A large numbers of Congress activists and workers led by senior congress leaders held a protest demonstration near press club Jammu today to lodge strong protest over the situation which has arisen in the Valley and Pak role in recent periods especially attempts to foment trouble in the volatile Kashmir situation and described it as a direct interference aimed at instigating the troubled Valley.
Led by former minister and Vice President PCC Raman Bhalla besides other senior leaders Smt. Kanta Bhan, Ravinder Sharma, Rajniesh Sharma, Vikram Malhotra, Manmohan Singh, S. Manjit Singh, Namrata Sharma, Indu Pawar, Anil Chopra, Pranav Shagotra, G.L. Chalotra, Neeraj Kundan (NSUI), Neeraj Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma, Thomas Khokhar and several other prominent leaders and workers marched towards Jewel Chowk & Tawi Bridge, when the police prevented from marching ahead.
Carrying placards and raising slogans against Pakistan & denouncing terrorism, the protestors also criticized the Centre and State Govt. holding them responsible for the present situation and accusing the Govt. of failure to provide fool proof security to the Amarnath Yatris who had to face lot of hardships at various places enroute and were subjected to attacks and harassment by miscreants during these periods in the absence of proper security and managements.
The protestors also blamed the Centre and State Govt. for ignoring the warning signals during the past some time regarding the deteriorating situation in the Valley which has come out open after the killing of Hizb commander Burham Wani by the security forces as there were increased attacks on forces and raising of Pakistan and ISIS flags on every Friday during past several months.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Addressing the gathering Bhalla lashed out at the PDP-PJP for its failure to deal with the situation during its rule in the state as a result the militancy has gained further grip and situation deteriorated during their rule.
“The BJP stands exposed for its total failure on all fronts and described the Pakistan role in the recent periods and now as highly condemnable and questioned policies of the Modi Govt. on this front as well Kashmir. The PDP-BJP government was silent spectator to the deteriorating security situation in the Valley as a result there is reverse trend in the peace and normalcy and situation has turned very grim now,” he said.
He also regretted the plight of Shri Amernath Yatris during the past 10 days who have suffered a lot on account failure of the State Govt. to ensure adequate arrangements and proper security. They were subjected great harassments and there is lot of anger amongst people and yatris on this account but the people are cooperating in order to restore peace and normalcy in the State. The Govt. should ensure the safety and security of all innocent citizens including Amarnath Yatris and minorities, which it failed so far.
The senior leaders of the party addressed the gathering and expressed serious concern over the overall situation in the valley, which is very grim and also expressed shock over the loss of innocent lives of civilians and security forces while lauding the forces for their role in combating terrorism. They appealed to the people to maintain peace and communal harmony and isolate the forces of terrorism and unitedly defeat the designs of antinational inimical forces.
A large number of Mahila workers, District Congress Committee, Youth Congress and Block Committees participated in the protest. (KNS)
