Srinagar, May 08 (KNS): Amid efforts to revamp the party’s organisational structure in the union territory, senior Congress leaders on Friday held a strategic meeting here and resolved to launch the second phase of the 'Sangthan Sirjan Abhiyaan' (SSA) across Jammu and Kashmir.
AICC General Secretary in-charge J&K Dr Syed Naseer Hussain, JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, CLP Leader G A Mir, and AICC Secretaries Divya Maderna and Pargat Singh chaired the deliberations, which were attended by newly appointed observers and district presidents from both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
During the meeting, the leaders reviewed the recently concluded training programme for District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents held in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. They expressed satisfaction over the performance of J&K’s DCC presidents, which was also hailed by the central leadership as a “wonderful experience”, according to a party statement.

The leadership emphasised the need to launch the second leg of SSA with the objective of forming district and block committees. The district presidents have been asked to submit their suggestions regarding the appointment of block presidents in all districts.
“Observers, coordinators, along with district presidents shall visit every block and tehsil to hold direct interaction with party workers and seek their suggestions for fresh formation of district and block committees,” the party said.
The leadership also directed the team to submit a detailed report along with ground-level assessment to the JKPCC.
Congratulating the newly appointed observers, the leadership expressed hope that they would contribute significantly to the rejuvenation of the party in their respective assigned districts. (KNS)
