Srinagar, Oct 05 (KNS): Condemning the Private Transport Owners for denying vehicles to Valley Fruit Growers on the pretext of Charging double fare, Congress today expressed serious concern over the losses caused to Fruit Growers and asked the Govt to show some seriousness about the plight of Fruit Growers of Valley, who are not being able to transport their fruit outside in absence of the adequate transport facility and with the fear of paying extra carriage.
Stating that Private Transport Owners are charging more than double as fare for ferrying fruit outside, JKPCC Spokesperson blamed the Govt for not being serious about the losses cased to fruit Growers, who have already undergone huge losses due to the current unrest and demanded stern action against the violators charging double fare from the Growers.
He said Govt should see that Growers do not suffer losses anymore and ensure adequate transportation to Fruit Growers fixed rates, enabling them to send their products outside state early.
The Spokesman also expressed concern over the non-availability of essentials in Dachan, Paader, Marwah and other far off areas in District Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and elsewhere in the State and urged the Govt to ensure supply of essentials to far flung area keeping inview the fast approaching winter season.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
PCC Spokesperson also condemned the ban on daily Kashmir reader and termed it as undemocratic, unethical and uncalled for. He said Congress party is deeply concerned over the move of the Govt to ban the publication of newspapers from time to time and termed it as an attack on Freedom of the Press.
Meanwhile Congress Leader Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday accused the Govt for not being able to provide transport facility to fruit growers in Shopian District, as a result t the growers are being forced to pay double carriage by the Transporters, thereby putting them to a great loss. He demanded stern action against the Private Transporters charging double fare from Fruit Growers. (KNS)
