Srinagar, May 07 (KNS): Condemning the civilian killings in Kashmir, the state Congress on Monday said that the Kashmir issue is a political and can’t be resolved through military might.
According to the joint statement issued to KNS, the Congress party held a core meeting at Srinagar during which the senior party leaders expressed anguish over the civilian killings and demanded an immediate end to the civilian killings.
The core group meeting also said that the PDP-BJP bonhomie has failed to restore peace in the Valley.
Terming the statement made by Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti wherein she had stated that she has failed to stop killings as ‘unfortunate’, the meeting said that she is the state’s home minister as well and after making such statement, she has no right to assume the chair.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The meeting further lashed out at state and central government and said that the military can’t help in resolving the issues. The leaders said that the people of Kashmir are bearing the brunt of government’s failure.
They asked how long such civilian killings will continue.
The core group meeting was held under the leadership of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh congress Committee Vice-president and MLA Sopore, Haji Abdul Rashid which was attends by MLA Bandipora, Usman Majeed, MLA Devsar, Amin Bhat, JKPCC General Secretary and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori and MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga.
