Jammu, Nov 11 (KNS): Continuing the candle march protests campaign, a strong protest was held at Rajouri led by JKPCC President G.A. Mir and PCC General Secretaries Shabir Ahmed Khan, Manmohan Singh, District President Rajouri Sain Abdul Rashid and a large number of congress activists and ex-servicemen participated in the protest march over the issue of failure of Modi government to implement One Rank One Pension and its failures on various fronts.
In a statement issued to KNS, addressing the protestors PCC Chief charged the Modi government of hoodwinking the ex-servicemen and spreading falsehood over OROP and on various other vital commitments made to the people during the general elections in the Country.
The ex-servicemen have launched a decisive struggle to force the Modi Government to implement the OROP scheme, as the scheme was not implemented in to and still the ex-servicemen are agitating and seeking parity and equality of pension of the same rank irrespective of the date of retirement, which clearly indicates that Modi Government is misleading the nation over this issue. He said that the treatment meted out to the family members of Shri Ram Kishan Grewal is blot on the democracy and reflection of great arrogance of power and insensitive approach of Modi Government.
He also expressed grave concern over the border situation and the plight of border residents who have been the victim of the failure of the Modi government’s flip-flap policies towards Pakistan. He said, there was almost calm on borders during ten years of UPA rule. The promises made to the border residents were not fulfilled by the BJP Government as a result they are facing the brunt of the current situation. He also accused Modi Government of total failure on all fronts and lashed out at the unprecedented price hike which has broken the back of poor and common man.
Similar protests was held at Marh, which was led by Thakur Balwan Singh (Ex-MLA) General Secretary JKPCC. Senior congress leaders Shri Mula Ram- former minister &Vice President PCC and Shri Tara Chand former Dy. Chief Minister and large number of people participated.
Addressing the protestors at Marh Thakur Balwan Singh lashed out at the Modi led BJP Government for its failure on various fronts and fulfilling his promises to the people of different sections in the Country. He said that the ex-servicemen have been betrayed and committing suicide for One Rank One Pension (OROP) and the Modi government instead of solving their problems is behaving in insensitive and undemocratic manner detaining the family members of the martyred Ram Kishan Grewal. He failed to fulfill the promise of providing 2 crore jobs to the youths and the plight of the border residents and refugees reflects the utter failure of the BJP Government
He demanded special recruitment drive for the youth of the border area, in army and paramilitary forces, compensation to the border area people for the losses they suffered due to continuous shelling by the Pak army and the problems of refugees of 1947, 65 and 71 who have been agitating since long should be solved.
The protest march at Ramban was organized by the Dist. Congress Committee and led by former MLA and Secretary PCC Shri Ashok Dogra, Sham Lal Bhagat (MLA), District President Shri Arun Singh Raju besides other local leaders Rashid Malik, Narinder Kour, Sanjay Manhas,, Abdul Ghani, Pawan Singh, Shahrukh Bhati, Budhi Singh, Khalid Wani, S. Janak Singh and others.
The protestors were carrying play cards amidst raising slogans took out candle light march in Ramban Town over the failure of Modi Government to implement the OROP in toto, as promised by Shri Rarinder Modi and the BJP during Lok Sabha elections, as a result the ex-servicemen are agitating and continuing their protests all over Country while the Modi Government is issuing misleading statements. Shri Ram Kishan Grewal committed suicide over the failure of the Government to fulfill the commitment and it is very unfortunate that the Modi Government ill-treated and detained the family members of Shri Grewal and AICC Vice President Shri Rahul Gandhi, which reflected the insensitive and anti-democratic attitude of Modi Government in the largest democratic Country.
Leading the protest at Sunderbani in Nowshera Constituency Shri Ravinder Sharma( Ex-MLC) Chief Spokesman JKPCC and Shah Mohd Choudhary-General Secretary PCC lashed out the Modi Govt for its failure to fulfill the promise of implementation of OROP in toto and other promises and the unprecedented price hike and the deteriorating situation on the borders. The senior leaders lambasted the BJP for befooling the masses on the eve of general elections and made tall promises but the common man is suffering because of the polices of the Modi Government and the BJP which has adopted antidemocratic and anti-people policies. They questioned the Modi Government for the ill-treatment to the family of Shri Grewal and crushing the democratic right of protests. They also accused the BJP betraying the electorates of Jammu Region for the sake of power. (KNS)
