Confine screening to specific cases with conjured qualifications: Tarigami

‘Refrain from creating chaos, uncertainty among teachers community

Srinagar, August 4 (KNS): Terming the government decision to go for screening test of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers as an unwarranted move, CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam has said that the administration must scrutinize specific cases only wherein the teachers have been appointed on the basis of conjured academic qualifications.
In a statement to KNS, Tarigami said the proposal of Ministry of Education purportedly mooted out under directions of the High Court is bound to create chaos and uncertainty among the teachers’ fraternity. He said instead of creating chaos and making such an inconsiderate decision applicable in a sweeping manner, the government must gather reliable information and take action against all such employees whose academic credentials are questionable.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
While appreciating the concern exhibited by the High Court in its decisions on much needed reforms in the education sector, the senior CPI (M) leader hoped that the Court will take all aspects of the present situation into consideration before passing any judgment which is aimed at bringing a holistic change in the education sector in the state.
The CPI (M) leader demanded that the government must remove chaos and confusion prevailing in the teachers (ReT) community by implementing the orders of the High Court in its letter and spirit. “The government must implement the Court’s order in original and refrain from exploiting these directions for any other motives perceived on the ground,” Tarigami demanded.
