J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Wednesday held a poetic symposium at Urdu Department of University of Kashmir. The literary gathering was held in collaboration with Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar.
Poets from Srinagar and its surrounding areas participated in the event and presented their poetry before the audience.
Commenting on today’s composite mushaira, Secretary Academy, Dr. Aziz Hajini said that poets and writers are the eyes of the society, who play pivotal role in the development of languages. He urged them to use their pen to serve the society.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The mushaira was presided over by Prof. Rehman Rahi. Mohammed Zaman Azurda, Farooq Nazki, and Prof. Mansoor Ahmad Mir also sat in the presidium.
The poets who presented their poetry during the composite mushaira included Rafiq Raaz, Ruksana Jabeen, Hamdam Kashmiri, Abdul Ahad Farhad, Mohammed Yusuf Figar, Shoukat Ansari, Zareef Ahmad Zareef, Shabeeb Rizvi, Parvez Manoos, Shakila Akhter, and Adid Gowhar.
The poetic symposium was coordinated by Academy’s functionaries – Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather and Mohammed Maqbool Allaie.
