New Delhi, Oct 07 (KNS): Companies manufacturing electric goods today pitched for energy-efficient products that advance sustainable environment and development and at the same time contribute to control global warming.
The companies said that the corporate sector should promote awareness about green technology that can address climate change issues.
“Our biggest contribution to control global warming will be the use of products which use less electricity in air conditioning,” Randal Newton, Vice president and Enterprise engineer of the Ingersoll Rand manufacturing company.
“For energy efficiency and sustainability, Newton said that Ingersoll Rand has formed ‘Green Teams’ for promoting and awareness about energy consumption and tackling pollution.
“The green teams have been fanned out in different communities to inform people how to take care of the environment,” Newton said, adding that Ingersoll Rand-an electric goods like air conditioning manufacturer- is an environment progressive company.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He was speaking during an interactive session with journalists at Indian Habitat Centre here as part of the four-day World Sustainable Development Summit, organised by The Energy Resources Institute.
The session was part of the Media Colloquium at the Summit that is underway in the capital with participants and delegates from across the world.
He added that the company has constituted hundred green teams in different parts of the world where the company manufactures its products.
“We call these teams ‘glocal’-a combination of global and local terms, which insist on addressing local issues that impact the globe,” he said.
“Our focus is on use of energy efficient products and refrigerants. We push for minor changes in product design without sacrificing energy efficiency,” he said.
Newton hoped that manufacturers will be able to find solutions to environment challenges by making energy-efficient products. (KNS)
