Srinagar, Apr 28 (KNS): The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday asked Kashmir High Court Bar Association (KHCBA) to come up with the suggestions, which would help in restoring peace in the Valley.
The association had earlier filed a petition, alleging that pellet guns are being misused.
KHCBA General Secretary, Advocate Bashir Sidiq told KNS that the SC has asked the association to come up with the suggestions which would help in restoring the peace in the Valley.
He said that the association briefed the SC about the present situation in the Valley and pitched for the unconditional dialogue with all the stakeholders including the Hurriyat.
“We also urged for the release of the separatist leaders who have been placed under house arrest since long so that the unconditional dialogue would be initiated with them,” Adv Bashir said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that next hearing will be on May 09. “In this gap, the SC asked us to come up with the suggestions that can help in restoring the peace in the Valley,” he added.
He informed that they urged the SC to impose ban on the use of pellet guns as it has resulted in the maiming and blinding of hundreds of people so far.
“The SC is also concerned about the present of situation,” he informed. (KNS)
