Srinagar, July 14(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference chairman Sajad Lone on Monday called on the Chief Minister to resign following an incident at the Martyrs’ Graveyard in Srinagar.
In a statement posted on social media, Lone said that the act of a security personnel attempting to stop or grapple with the Chief Minister was not just a personal matter, but a humiliation for the institution itself.
"The institution of Chief Minister is much bigger than the person of the incumbent Chief Minister. Please save this institution. Please step down. I will be the first person to follow you," Lone wrote.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He also questioned the sequence of events surrounding the Chief Minister's attempted visit to the graveyard on July 13, describing them as "choreographed" and "predictable." Lone alleged that political access to the graveyard around Martyrs' Day is selectively granted, stating that one party is allowed to visit a day before, and another the day after.
"These choreographed events are too predictable. Stop insulting the intelligence of the common Kashmiri," he added.(KNS).
