CM Omar Abdullah-Led NC Govt a "Public Failure" : MP Ruhullah

Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNS): In a fresh salvo against his own party's leadership, Parliamentarian Aga Ruhullah expressed regret over the performance of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah-led National Conference government. He stated that after a year in power, it is evident to all that the government has failed to meet public expectations.

Addressing a gathering in Srinagar, MP Ruhullah—as per the news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) accused CM Omar Abdullah and other National Conference leaders of being disconnected from the public. “They shun the paths I walk,” Ruhullah said. He alleged that while the leadership utilized his presence during election campaigns to secure votes, they would now avoid accompanying him among the people. “The reality is clear, but I will not abandon my people; we will fight this together,” he asserted, urging people not to hesitate in lawfully pursuing their rights.

He further called upon the public to maintain peace and refrain from disturbing law and order, while simultaneously emphasizing that seeking legal recourse for just causes is imperative.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

MP Ruhullah also questioned the party's commitment to core issues. “If we cannot even articulate a position on major promises—be it Article 370 or statehood, the central issues on which we sought votes—we must at a minimum advocate for the provision of basic public facilities,” he stated.

On Minorities

Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah drew a parallel between the treatment of minorities in India and the plight of Muslims in Gaza. He stated that he perceives incidents of lynching against minorities in India through the same lens.

“Whether it is Hindus in Bangladesh, Muslims in India, or any innocent being anywhere—including those killed in Gaza—the perpetrator is a terrorist committing an atrocity,” the Parliamentarian said.

He added, “If a minority is killed in Bangladesh, the killer is a terrorist. Equally, if a minority is killed in India, the killer is a terrorist.” (KNS)
