Srinagar, June 28 (KNS): Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has condoled the demise of veteran political stalwart, Peerzada Ghulam Jeelani, of Pampore who left for heavenly abode last evening.
A member of the Constituent Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir, Peerzada served as an MLA for four consecutive terms from 1951 to 1967. He was also a nominated MLC from 1967-1972.
Peerzada was also Nishan Dehenda of the holy relic of Peer Dastgeer Sahab (RA) at Khanyar shrine.
Lauding the contribution of Peerzada Ghulam Jeelani in the religious, social and political spheres of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba said his immense contribution in social and economic uplift of his people would be remembered long.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar joined the Jinaza prayers of the deceased at Pampore today.
Akhtar extended personal condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul. (KNS)
