Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has asked the top police and civil officers to review the cases of all the arrested youth and start the release process of minors and all those who don’t face any serious charges on fast track basis.
Top official sources told KNS that the CM has asked the top brass of the administration to constitute District Level Committees of Police and Civil officers to prepare the list of the youth arrested during the last five months of unrest.
“The CM has directed to review the cases of all the arrested youth and use soft approach on the cases of minors and other who don’t face any serious charges,” a top official said.
The CM has further directed to review the cases on the fast track basis and release the minors and other innocents’ sooner than later and hand over them to their parents. It has been further revealed by the sources that CM has asked the officers to act as pacificators and bring the youth on the right track.
Sensing the situation after the over five months of long unrest has started gradually shifting towards normalcy, the state government has also decided to focus on the overall development of the valley which has remained hit during the summer of 2016.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“Reviewing the cases of all the arrested youth and releasing them accordingly as per the magnitude of their role in the current uprising is a part of our fresh start. The government is almost going to start a fresh developmental process in the valley,” a top minister told KNS, wishing not to be named.
Sources also disclosed that the Chief Minister has asked some senior cabinet ministers and senior police officers to initiate fast track CBMs to win back the confidence of the people of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, a senior PDP leader told KNS that their party was never in favour of denting the confidence of people. “PDP believes that it were some people who incited youth to take extreme steps. Even NC is involved in inciting trouble in the valley which is very clear now,” he said. (KNS)
