Srinagar, Jan 23 (KNS): Following the meeting call from the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, the Valley transporters on Monday deferred their strike till Jan 25.
Chairman of Kashmir Transporters Welfare Association (KTWA), Abdul Qayoom Wani while addressing a presser said, “The association has received a letter from the regional Transport Office (RTO) Kashmir in which the Chief Minister has called us for holding a meeting on 25th of this month at 11:00am regarding the demands of transporters.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
“We called a meeting in which all the federation members were present during which it was unanimously decided to defer the strike till Jan 25. The next course of action will be conveyed after meeting with CM,” he said.
Pertinently, the transporters had called for 72-hour long strike to press for their demands including withdrawal of yearly passenger welfare fund and rollback of hike in fitness fees and fees for other renewal of documents. (KNS)
