CLUJ conducts Webinar on Human Rights

Srinagar December 10:(KNS) Department of Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu organised an webinar to commemorate Human Rights Day under the patronship of Prof. Manoj Dhar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor CLUJ. Ms. Mandeep Reen, Senior Advocate, J&K High Court and forthright human activist, was the Resource Person for the webinar. The webinar was chaired by Dr. Sanjay Verma, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu. He stressed on increasing awareness & knowledge about human rights and protection of nature and lauded the efforts of Department of Students Welfare in organising a webinar on such a pertinent topic. Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu formally welcomed the guests and exhorted that the theme for Human Rights 2020 “Recover Better-Stand Up for Human Rights” is in sync with the ongoing Covid Pandemic and so,efforts should be made to reaffirm the importance of human rights so as to be able to rebuild and refurbish the world that we seek, for achieving national and global solidarity, thus advocating shared humanity across communities.
Ms. Mandeep Reen deliberated at length on the topic 'Human Rights need to priortize Nature- Human relationship. She enlightened the students about the declaration of human rights which find place in chapter of UNO. She said that universal Declaration of Human rights and Indian Human rights should priortize nature-human relationship. She stressed on protection of nature to overcome the existential crisis we are going through. The session was followed by an illuminating question answer session. Deans of Faculties, Coordinators of different wings, teaching fraternity and more than sixty students from PGI schools of CLUJ attended the webinar. The programme was organised with the coordination of all Assistant Deans - Dr. Geetanjali, Dr. Davinder, Dr. Shameem, Dr. Mansi and Dr. Sudesh and Dr. Mandeep Singh, tech host of the event. Dr. Revika Arora, Cultural Coordinator, Cluster University of Jammu moderated the proceedings while Dr. Banpreet Kour, Associate Dean, CLUJ gave formal vote of thanks.(KNS)
