CLUJ Celebrates 75 Years of India’s Independence

Jammu August 15:(KNS)  The 75th Independence Day of India was celebrated with zeal and vigor on 15th August, 2021 in the premises of Cluster University Of Jammu .The theme ,this year Nation First, Always First and under Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, marks yet, another milestone in the history of the worlds largest democracy which is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of freedom of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.


Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu hoisted the National Flag in the university campus which was followed by Guard of honor by the NCC cadets and playing of the National Anthem.
Prof Bechan Lal, in his address recalled and paid tributes to the supreme sacrifices of our freedom fighters. He expressed India’s commitment to work in solidarity towards realizing the dreams of our founding fathers and the objectives set out by our government for Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat. He exhorted that the day has both a historical and a symbolic significance as it reminds us every year that freedom is sacred and all Indian citizens must work in unison to ensure that it is not endangered. As this year marks the 75th anniversary of the culmination of our freedom struggle,he added that it is poignant to revisit the emergence of leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhagat Singh ,Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel , Chandershekhar Azad , Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and many more who gave power to the freedom struggle. Finally, the British decided to leave India, transferring power back to the country.


To mark this unforgettable occasion, the Union Government has announced a 75- week programme. The celebrations which commenced 75 weeks before 75th anniversary of Independence will end on 15th August 2023. The festival of 75 years of independence will not only endeavour to reflect the spirit of freedom struggle but also offer a tribute to the martyrs.


In light of the above, Cluster University of Jammu commenced celebrations of 75 years of Indias Independence & Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav on 12th March,2021 with a calendar of social and cultural events in the constituent colleges and university schools showcasing the pride of Sanatan Bharat and glory of Modern India and also with a pledge and resolve to build a New India which sprinkles 4 Ps- Peace,Productivity ,Progression and Prosperity.


The 75th Independence Day Ceremony was attended by Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar, Deans of faculties , Dean Students Welfare, Principals of constituent colleges and Associate and Assistant Deans. The programme was organised by the Office of Dean Students Welfare, CLUJ with the coordination of the NCC Wing headed by Coordinator, Dr. Karan Singh.(KNS)
