Srinagar, Jul 18 (KNS): Due to cloud bursts and incessant rains in upper reaches of Pahalgam and Aishmuqam areas, water supply got disrupted in Aishmuqam, Pahalgam and adjacent areas, today.
AEE PHE, Engineer Ghulam Nabi Bhat while providing details about cloud bursts said Hapatnad, Choli Haji, Ichnar and Langnai Nallahs are badly affected and the water level of Lidder and Awora have gone up leading to turbulent flow.
On the directions of chief engineer, Exon PHE Bijebhera and AEE PHE Pahalgam subdivision rushed to the spots and have started restoring major schemes out of fifteen schemes that got fully damaged in the jurisdiction of sub division. Meanwhile chief engineer Irrigation Eng Imtiaz Dhar also directed se hydraulics and team officers to check and monitor levels of water in Lidder and Awora Nallah that has disrupted Irrigation system also.
Accordingly AEE Irrigation Bijebhera and JEEs, Khurshid Ahamed, Fayaz Ahamed and Aijaz Ahamed are on job and are monitoring the level of water in major Nallahs.
The latest details pouring in from Aishmuqam is AEE PHE Aishmuqam and JEEs are on job for restoring water supply. (KNS)
