Closure of KT, KNS offices “arbitrary”, “unethical”: Khalida Shah

Srinagar, October 20:(KNS) The universal Golden Principle remains in the concept of freedom of Expression, Freedom of association and protection to your life, liberty and property. The purpose of the above said concept is the soul of democracy and if you remove the soul out of the body it remains only a particle of dust.
According to a statement to KNS, reads, the barbaric attack on the print and electronic media is the denial of fundamental rights of every citizen who lives under the umbrella of democratic setup. By denying the freedom, though at the same time it is painful to reconcile with the saying that India is the largest democracy in the world. People at the helm at the centre need to resist their intellectual approach and desist from eroding the remaining belief of democracy from an average Indian.
This was stated by ANC President Begum Khalida Shah in a press statement today while reacting on the uncalled for closure of Kashmir Times and Kashmir News Service offices in Srinagar, who have been playing a positive and constructive role in promoting the ethical essence of Journalism in J&K State. This action of the authorities is arbitrary, unethical, malicious and against the basic principles of fair play, she said.
The ANC chief demanded the immediate restoration of the status Quo Ante in favour of Kashmir Times and Kashmir News Service premises.(KNS)
