Srinagar, Jan 20 (KNS): Though authorities failed to clear snow on roads, the inhabitants including patients in Karnah village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district were left to face hardships.
According to KNS correspondent, inhabitants said that the authorities here have failed to press men and machinery to clear the accumulated snow on roads thereby leaving the people to lurch at large.
Alleging that the Beacon machines are lying defunct, the residents said the authorities are ignoring their plights with taking no action in this regard. “We have been left to face hardships due to the closure of Karnah-Kupwara road,” they said.
The inhabitants demanded immediate redressal of their genuine grievances.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They said that the traffic is off the roads from past couple of days as the snow is accumulated on roads here and the authorities are acting as mute spectator.
Inhabitants told KNS that the authorities had promised a few days back that the road will be reopened after some hours but unfortunately all in vain.
The inhabitants later appealed authorities concerned to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at earliest.
Meanwhile, KC Das, Beacon 2IC, told KNS that no machine is lying defunct and the officials are working hard to clear the snow on roads. “The men and machinery has been pressed to clear the snow on roads,” he said. (KNS)
