Local residents protest, demand reshuffle of entire staff of school

Srinagar, Feb 19 (KNS): The residents of Sangri Top Bala in Baramulla district on Saturday held a massive protest against school administration of Sangri Top High School after the school registered zero pass percentage in Class 10 examination.

Witnesses told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the residents assembled in the school premises and held a protest against staff, while demanding their reshuffle.

The protesting residents said that teachers of Sangri Top High school have failed to their duties as they were not able to teach even just four students of Class 10th and the school registered zero pass percentage.

They alleged that one of the teachers posted in the school, has been making tall claims about revamping education system in the school, but after seeing performance of students in class 10 examination, the results of quite clear before everyone.

Meanwhile, the residents demanded reshuffle of entire staff of the school and strict action against them for making mockery of their profession.

“Owais Nanda, who is posted in the school has been claims thick and high over school media and Twitter spaces, where prominent citizens of Baramulla take part, about revamping education system in the school, but class 10 result of the school has punctured his claims. We demand strict action against him and other staff members of the school,” said one of the protesting resident.

The residents said that around 20 teachers have been posted in the school and there were just four students in class 10, who have failed to get even 33 percent marks in class 10 examination. “This speaks volumes about the callous attitude of the staff members if this school,” they said.(KNS)
