Srinagar, Sep 19 (KNS): Clashes erupted between forces and civilian in southern Kashmir’s Shopian district during which many persons were injured.
According to sources, a pro freedom rally was planned by locals today but security forces swung into action and fired tear gas smoke canisters and pellets resulting in injuries to civilians.

People defied restriction and marched towards the venue where government forces restored to tear smoke shelling.
Meanwhile, reports said that a government school building was gutted in the fire, however, the cause of fire was not known immediately. (KNS)
