Clashes, partial shutdown in Anantnag against Zahid’s death

Traffic on Srinagar-Jammu Highway disrupted

Srinagar, Oct 18 (KNS): Clashes between protesters and security forces erupted Sunday in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district against death of a trucker who was among the two drivers attacked by petrol-bombs by a mob in Udhampur in Jammu province earlier this month.
Reports said that protesters threw stones and shouted slogans against the government after the news spread in the area.
A partial shutdown was also observed, with the traffic movement thinning on Srinagar-Jammu Highway.
Zahid Rasool Bhat from Botengoo, Bijebehara in Anantnag district, who was critically injured during the attack, succumbed at a Safdargunj Hospital in New Delhi, while his associate Showkat Ahmad is also admitted in the same hospital and his condition is reported to be stable.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
