Bandipora, May 12 (KNS): Residents of Ajas area of Bandipora District in Northern Kashmir here on reiterated the demand for the establishment of Degree College in the Vicinity, threatened that if Govt Failed to Fulfillment our demand, We will Launch an Agitation.
The Residents under the Banner of Civil society Ajas protest to press the government over their demands of establishment of Degree College in the area.
Residents including youth, senior citizens, Activists of the area gathered and chanted slogans in favour of their demands.The protesters were carrying placards which reads, We want Degree College.
We will fight for our rights in a peaceful manner until government fulfill our demands,” said Imran Rather Civil Society Ajas Secretry.
He Degree college has been Sanctioned to Tulail Gurez which even doesn't fall in the criteria and Ajas which falls in criteria is ignored by the govt.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe will Launch Agitation if Govt fail to Fullfill our demand, we will close the Srinagar Bandipora road till our demand will not be fullfiled, he added.
Another Activist said that our childrens have to cover long distances to reach the colleges in and around Srinagar as there is no Degree College in our locality. He said that Ajas is Largest Congested Tribal Populated area.
Despite Assurances from CM to acknowledge the demand for Degree College in the Area, they Sanctioned College for Tulail instead for Ajas, which is Unfortunate, Chairman Civil society Mohammad Kamal said.
Aggreived Protestors appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Minister for Education to look into the matter and fulfil their demand at an earliest.
Earlier a delegation of residents of Ajas Bandipora and adjacent areas called on the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and brought issue of Degree College for Ajas area into her notice. (KNS)
