Srinagar, Jan 7 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Union has expressed deep sorrow over the death of chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
President JKCSNGEU, Ghulam Rasool Mir, told KNS that the state has lost a great leader whose vision was always the welfare of the people.
The employees held a condolence meet at 10.30 am today in Civil Secretariat Jammu and prayed for the deceased CM, and his family.
Mir, who is the chairman of the employees coordination committee, said that all the employees of the Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council and other lower pay grade employees participated in the condolence meet.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
President of the lower pay grade employees, Maqbool Hussian and Farooq Ahmad, president of assembly employees too participated in the prayer meet.
Mufti, 79, passed away on Thursday at 7.30 am at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
Sayeed, detected with sepsis, decreased blood count and pneumonia, was admitted to AIIMS on December 24, with complaints of neck pain and fever. He had remained in the intensive care unit of AIIMS since then. (KNS)
