Chrungoo express thanks, gratitude to Bob Blackman, UK MP

Jammu 20 June (KNS): Senior BJP and KP leader and Incharge, Deptt of political affairs and Feedback, J&K-BJP, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo on Sunday said that they express  thanks and gratitude to Bob Blackman, UK MP for bringing a motion in the UK Parliament in regard to the displaced Kashmiri Pandits on the occasion of International Refugee Day on 20th June and added that It is recognition of the three decade old struggle in exile of the Kashmiri Pandit community scattered throughout the world.

As per the Statement issued to Kashmir News Service, he said that the text of the Motion (EDM 208) moved by four members says, "That this House pays tribute to the resilience of the persecuted minorities, victims of Jehad, living as refugees, fighting for their rights, the world over; empathises with the plight of those people; highlights the special case of Kashmiri Hindus (Pandits) who continue to live as refugees in their own country as their genocide is yet to be acknowledged; urges the Government of India to ensure that the legal recognition of genocide of Kashmiri Hindus is followed by due action to deliver justice to that hard working, resilient community of nation builders; and hopes that the Kashmiri Hindus are able to return to their homeland (Panun Kashmir) and see an end to being refugees in their own country".

Chrungoo while acknowledging the efforts of the UK MPs in London said that it needs to be emphasised that the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) way back in 1999 in its decision on our complaint termed what was done to the Kashmiri Pandits as "acts akin to genocide" and also said that "genocide type design" may exist against them in the minds and utterances of the terrorists and militants in the valley of Kashmir.

Even the Delhi High Court observed, only some years back, that ethnic cleansing was done with the Pandits while the J&K High Court termed their mass exodus as "unparalleled", which can't be compared with other migrations.

Kashmiri Pandits have demanded that a Special Crimes Tribunal Court be constituted to go into the excesses committed against the minorities in the J&K state over the last thirty five years to bring the culprits to justice. The minorities comprising all sections of Hindus and Sikhs in Jammu and Kashmir reietrate this demand on this World Refugee day of the year 2021.(KNS)
