Urges LG to bear all expenses of her future education to encourage tribal students

KATHUA JULY 16 (KNS): Apni Party Vice President, and Former Cabinet Minister, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali today visited to congratulate Summara Shakeel, her father Shakeel Ahmed and mother Rafeela Begum, and the villagers of Korequssba in Hiranagar Tehsil of Kathua District.

He appreciated Summara for securing a good percentage of marks in class tenth result and has the calibre to crack any competitive exams. He appreciated her parents for their hard work and success despite of difficult situations like seasonal migration as the student has performed very well in the exams.

He further expressed hope that this result will definitely encourage the students to perform better in the field of education despite difficult situations with their hard work as the tribals have lacked in the education sector for decades.

He also appreciated the decision of the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for giving one laptop, Rs 1 lakh cash as an encouragement to the tribal girl and Rs 30, 000 of scholarship to the tribal student. He however expressed displeasure that the scholarship was limited to Rs 30, 000 and demanded that the Govt should bear all the educational expenses of the girl for her further studies to achieve her goals as this will help the entire society as she will be capable to deliver for the society and the area.

He also appreciated the teachers and students of the school where she studied and congratulated the large number of villagers including Sarpanch and other prominent persons. The parents also expressed their gratitude to the Apni Party leaders who visited them.

Meanwhile, he also said that children of tribal community often face problems to continue their studies and many of them are compelled with the circumstances like seasonal migration, poor financial background and no permanent house to leave their studies in between.

“The Govt must provide ample opportunity for the tribal community students and the schools where they do study must be monitored by the committee involving prominent tribal community leaders and social activities so that the tribal students can be provided better education,” he said.

He said that the upliftment of tribal community is possible with education and hence, the Govt must ensure all the tribal community students do not drop their studies due to various issues.

“A survey should be conducted on the students of tribal community so that a plan can be chalked out for their educational, economic and social upliftment. There is a need to encourage tribal students for higher students so that they can appear in the competition and uplift the living standard of the needy and marginalized class of section in the entire society without discrmination,” he added.

The Former Minister was accompanied by President Bani-Basohli (Kandi), Yasar Choudhary, Youth Wing State Vice President Raqeeq Ahmed Khan and many other people from the village including Sarpanch, Mohammed Jameel, Sarpanch Pinky, social activist Sayeed Choudhary of Hiranagar, Som Raj and others were also present.
