The auspicious festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr was celebrated by all members of Chinar Corps with traditional gaiety and the spirit of brotherhood in all parts of the Kashmir Valley.
All the different units and formations of the Chinar Corps joined the Awaam in celebrating the auspicious day of Eid-ul-Fitr with traditional gaiety and brotherhood in different parts of Kashmir today. Keeping in spirit with local traditions, Eid Namaaz was organised in the headquarters of the Chinar Corps, divisions and brigades. In these functions, the muslim troops of different units celebrated the festival with their brethren in uniform in the true spirit of universal brotherhood as enjoined in Islam.
In Srinagar, the main Eid prayers were held at the JAK LI Regimental Centre Rangreth where more than 800 soldiers participated. The JAK LI comprises troops from the State of Jammu and Kashmir and, while many of the soldiers who attended the Eid Namaaz were locals, none of them missed their homes in the celebrations as the spirit of camaraderie and brotherhood was overwhelming.

Speaking to the soldiers after the prayers, the Chinar Corps Commander extolled the virtues of the holy month of Ramzan which culminates in the celebrations of Eid as it symbolizes the human spirit of selflessness, care, love and brotherhood – attributes that characterize the Indian Army as well. Extending his warm greetings to the Awaam of Kashmir, the entire uniformed community including the Army, Air Force, CAPF and Police of Kashmir, the Chinar Corps Commander also lauded their collective resilience in overcoming the recent challenges posed by the inclement weather and reiterated the Army’s resolve to stand by the Awaam in every adversity.
Meanwhile, in a parallel event organised at Badami Bagh Cantonment, the Chief of Staff Chinar Corps, Maj Gen Anil Chauhan and GOC 31 Sub Area, Maj Gen AK Das, attended the Eid prayers at the Sarv Dharm Sthal Masjid. Here the officers of Chinar Corps celebrated Eid with the troops of Badami Bagh Cantonment. Similar functions were held at different formations in the Valley. (KNS)
