Srinagar, Oct 23 (KNS): The Indian Army's Chinar Corps, in collaboration with Jaipur-based Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), popularly known as Jaipur Foot, organised an artificial limb fitment camp at Sharifabad in Kashmir to assist persons with disabilities, officials said on Friday.
The camp provided free customised artificial limbs to amputees and assistive devices, including hearing aids, wheelchairs, crutches and callipers, to beneficiaries, they said.
A specialised team of prosthetic technicians and medical experts from BMVSS assessed the individual requirements of amputees and fitted them with artificial limbs suited to their needs.
The initiative aimed at improving mobility, promoting independent living and helping persons with disabilities participate more actively in their families and communities.
