Children are at risk of catching Covid infection, Jammu Pediatrician sounds caution

Srinagar, May 19 (KNS): Dr Pallavi Sharma, Lecturer Pediatrician SMGS Hospital Jammu says that young children are also at risk of catching the infection from other infected members of the family. 

Redness of eyes & loose stools are common symptoms shown by young kids, she said.

During an interaction program, "Awaam ki Awaaz" by LG Manoj Sinha, Dr Pallavi Sharama said, that it has been good moment to interact with LG to shed light on the current situation.

" It is good to see the administration is well concerned about the well being of it's people. We have been asking for suggestions, other measures in view of covid-19," she said.

"The ball lies in people's Court, people have to take this infection seriously and extend all corporation with government to fight this virus, she added.

As I pediatrician I can see children are getting infected, while having different symptoms, but it's unfortunate parents are not taking seriously this infection, she said.

In case your children is showing any symptom, please go for a test immediately to avoid any untoward incident, she added. 

It's a collective fight, we have to win it together, senior dr said. 

"The reports are suggesting that the 3rd wave may hit us anytime, we have to be prepared in advance to fight the infection." It said.

"We have to adhere strictly to the covid19 guidelines. We have to take care of our children, wash their hands regularly, make them to wear masks and other important measures, she said.

 Speaking exclusively to KNS, Dr Pallavi Sharma said that the interaction with LG Manoj Sinha via interaction program "Awaam ke Awaaz" was amazing, it's good to see that our LG is coming to grassroot level. 

"Since I am pediatrician, I would say children are getting infected. Families are getting infected but unfortunately children are not being tested, this is serious," It said.

"My message to people is that 3rd wave is on way, may hit us anytime, childrens too can get infected. We have to be prepared in advance, to avoid any untoward incident," she told KNS.

Administration is putting it's all efforts to deal with the situation, but responsibility also lies on us, we have to follow the guidelines in letter and sprite, she added.
