Handwara, Jun 15 (KNS): Whole sale dealers and drug association Handwara came together to launch a campaign against the use of polythene on Saturday.

They decided to say no to polythene from today and make Handwara polythene free zone.

Around 100 members from drug association Handwara, whole sale dealers were sensitised about usage of plastic and its harmful effects and also about recycling, re-using and refusing plastics.

They were also made to pledge to refuse plastic and were encouraged to use paper, cloth or recycled plastic bags as an alternative.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

On this occasion drug officer Handwara Dr Shabir Ahmad was the guest of honor, besides Javid Iqbal Zargar, Mushtaq Ahmad Tantray, Firdous Ahmad Lone and Gulzar Ahmad Rather were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile locals of the area hailed the efforts of the chemist and drug association Handwara. (KNS)
