Kupwara, May 6 (KNS): A chemist shop was sealed in Kupwara district on Wednesday as authorities intensified an anti-drug drive under the ‘100 Days Nasha Mukt Abhiyan’, officials said.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the action was taken during a joint inspection by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Drug Control authorities at Bhat Medical Hall in the Drugmulla area.
Officials said the shop was found involved in violations of prescribed standard operating procedures and illegal sale practices.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the proprietor under relevant provisions of law, an official said.
The action is part of a wider initiative to curb misuse of medicines and prevent drug abuse in the region, officials said, adding that similar inspections will continue across the district to ensure strict compliance.
The administration reiterated its commitment to the Nasha Mukt campaign and warned that any violation will invite strict legal action. (KNS)
