Chaya seeks intervention of Guv, Home Minister for revocation of traffic restrictions on Kashmir highway

Srinagar, Apr 04 (KNS): Chairman Kashmir chapter of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHD CC&I) and chairman Kashmir Hoteliers Association Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya on Thursday sought the intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for revocation of order banning movement of civilian traffic on Wednesday and Sunday every week.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Chaya said restriction on civilian movement twice a week will send out a wrong message to tourists who are being pursued by the Government to visit Kashmir and given assurances about the security, safety and hospitality in Kashmir. He said that restricting the movement of civilian traffic along highway twice a week will send a bad message to the tourists who have been visiting the valley every year.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Saying that the decision to restrict civilian movement for two day on only surface link of Kashmir with other parts of the country will also disturb the scheduled movements of students and tourists also besides the local travellers of Banihal, Ramban, Udhampur and adjoining areas, he urged both the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and as well as Governor Satya Pal Malik to review the decision and revoke it at the earliest in the larger interest of the General public, tourists, Amarnath yatris and local travellers.
