Jammu, March 05 (KNS) : In an event organized by FICCI Flo JKL held at Jammu, the remarkable achievements of women from various fields were recognized and celebrated under the banner of ‘TRAILBLAZERS’, Second Edition Celebrating Women Achievers. 


Chasfeeda Shah, the Chief Editor of Kashmir Scan, was awarded the Women Achievers from Jammu and Kashmir Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field of journalism. The prestigious award was presented to her in the presence of eminent personalities and dignitaries from various fields. 

Speaking on the occasion, the founding Chairperson of FICCI Flo JKL, Dr Kunwarni Ritu Singh, expressed her appreciation and admiration for the inspiring women achievers who have broken the shackles of societal norms and emerged as role models for the future generation. “It is important to recognize and appreciate the efforts of women who have excelled in their respective fields and have paved the way for others to follow,” she said.

The event witnessed the felicitation of several women achievers who have made significant contributions in their respective fields. The list of awardees includes Mandeep Kaur, Commissioner Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Anurada Gupta JKAS, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Seema Khajuria Shekhar, Senior Advocate, Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Rashmi Wazir, Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Sargun Shukla IPS, Rupali Singh, Chasfeeda Shah, Editor-in-Chief, Kashmir Scan magazine, Dr. Surbhi Kudyar, Breast Onco Surgeon, Dr Twinkle Suri, Head of Department, Department of English, Cluster University, Humaira Mushtaq, First Formula Car Racer from Jammu and Kashmir, Harman Anand Posthumously, Social Worker, and Seema, First e-Auto Driver in Jammu and Kashmir. 

The awardees, in their speeches, highlighted their timeless efforts and hard work in their respective fields, and shared their inspiring stories of overcoming obstacles and achieving success. They emphasized that the success of women in different fields is a testimony to their potential and capabilities, and that it is important to recognize and appreciate the contributions of women to the society.

During the event, the awardees took the opportunity to acknowledge the efforts and hard work put in by women in their respective professional fields. Speaking on the occasion, “The professional careers of women have always been considered uncertain, but through their determination and perseverance, they have excelled in every field and profession, proving the naysayers wrong,” stated Seema Khajuria, one of the recipients of the Award.

Other speakers also highlighted the success of women in their professional careers and the challenges they had to overcome. “Women have always been undervalued in society. However, women have been able to prove themselves in every field they choose, and that their hard work and achievements should be recognized and celebrated,” said Chasfeeda Shah, the Chief Editor of Kashmir Scan magazine 

The speeches given by the awardees at the event were a testament to the significant contributions made by women in various professional fields, and the need for greater recognition of their accomplishments.

Pertinently, FLO is the women wing of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) is an all-India forum for women, FLO has its headquarters in New Delhi, with 19 chapters covering different geographical regions of India. It represents over 8000 women entrepreneurs and professionals. With over 38 years of experience, FLO has been promoting entrepreneurship and professional excellence among women through workshops, seminars, conferences, training and capacity building programmers etc. “The objective of the organization is to encourage and facilitate women to showcase their talents, skills, experiences and energies across sectors and verticals of the economy, for a truly inclusive economic growth trajectory,” says Dr Ritu Singh.

“My Tagline is ‘Where Mountains Meet the Sky” because there are several initiatives we would like to take forward as we establish our Chapter. Our topmost priority is Health Care. Our region requires investment initiatives by the private sector to improve the health care delivery system by establishing new hospitals, medical colleges, world-class diagnostic labs, health and wellness centres,” she added.
