Champions Trophy Qaziabad: Handwara Reds Shines, lifts trophy

Handwara, October 10: (KNS) Final match of Champions Trophy Panditpora concluded here today at Panditpora Quaziabad Sports ground in Langate.
The final match was played between Handwara Reds vs Galoora Sports Bating first, Handwara Reds put a decent total of 164 runs on the board in 20 overs. Guloora Sports was never in the hunt as they lost wickets at regular intervals. None of their batsmen was able to put a decent show with the willow and the entire team was bundled out on 115 runs.
Opener batsman Imran Ahmad scored 58 runs and was the main contributor to the scoreboard from Handwara Reds side.
While chasing a total, Guloora Sports received a poor start from their openers.. In the middle, they lost some crucial wickets and failed to give a smooth finish against Handwara Reds. Their middle order batsmen and tail-ender couldn’t do much and failed to chase the target.
It was thrilling competition between the two rivals. Handwara Reds lastly defeated its rival Guloora Sports by 49 runs. The occasion was graced by BDC Chairman Bashir Ahmad, Sarpanch Halqa, Jaffar Hussain and many respected citizens, media professionals and sportspersons. Mohammad Maqbool, a physical teacher, was also present on the occasion.
The league was organised by Quaziabad Youngsters of Panditpora. There were total 32 teams in the league. The winner’s of the league Handwara Reds were honored with the Trophy and a check of Seventeen thousand.
Runners up team were handed over trophy and seven thousand cash amount.
Imran Ah from Handwara Reds who scored 48 was awarded man of the match.
Mudasir Ahmada top all-rounder from Handwara REDS was awarded man of the series for his brilliant performance during the whole series. Famous cricket commentator Tanver Dar was also present and was honored with a Trophy. The competition proved to be thrilling amidst huge crowd. The event was played under proper covid19 guidelines and SOP were strictly followed.
The BDC Chairman Qaziabad Later announced 1lac amount for the maintance of ground. The locals also urged administration to show some attention the sports field.
