Srinagar, June 07:(KNS) In continuation to the public outreach programme, Apni Party DDC members including DDC Chairperson and Vice Chairperson visited several remote villages of Shopian. They met various public delegations and took first-hand reports of their grievances and the pace of development works.

In a statement issued here, Irfan said that on one hand the roads are in dilapidated state while on the other there exists a dire need of establishing health centers and requisite medical facilities in these areas.

"People, especially the tribal sections from these remote areas face a grave difficulty during the winter season due to flawed road connectivity,” he said.

While interacting with the DDC Vice Chairman Irfan Manhas, the youth of these areas expressed their displeasure as there is no playground for them to indulge in sports activities.

"No one seems to be bothered about our physical as well as mental health", said one of the youths.

The locals from Devpora also expressed their anguish towards the necessity of implementation of the Panchayati Raj system in its true form.

“As I have been informed by the people of Devpora there is no Chowkidar, Nambardar or Sarpanch present in the area but still someone is using their official seals illegally which requires immediate action,” he said.

Issuing the statement with the media, DDC Vice Chairman assured people full support in bringing much needed development on the ground.

"These areas need special attention and there is a genuine need to enhance road connectivity, streamline the education system and develop health services for tribal areas of the district,” he said.

The people of Devpora, Sarbal and other villages thanked Apni Party DDC members for the visit and appreciated their efforts of reaching out to people of far flung areas.
