Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali, who is also the Chairman of Library Committee, today chaired a meeting of Library Committee to take stock of damage caused to books of Council Library with the devastating flood in September 2014.
Legislators, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas and Jugal Kishore were also present in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the Chairman highlighted the importance of books in any civilized and cultured society, saying that rare and old books are the asset of the society.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe directed the concerned for preparing separate inventories of safe and sound and ragged books, besides keeping the safe books in the Council Library for further use.
Later, the Committee inspected the Council Library and took stock of the present position of library. (KNS)
