Srinagar, October 2(KNS): To mark the occasion of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (CGPWA) Kashmir today organized a cleanliness drive in the lawn of Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SHMS) Hospital, Srinagar.
The event is part of the nationwide campaign observed annually on October 2nd to promote cleanliness and hygiene across the country.
The drive witnessed active participation from CGPWA President Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, as well as the Superintendent of SHMS Hospital, along with other members and hospital staff. Despite invitations, no representatives from certain invited teams were present at the event.
On the occasion, President Kifayat Hussain Rizvi highlighted the vital importance of cleanliness in society. He emphasized that cleanliness is not only a civic responsibility but also a moral and religious obligation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Our religion teaches us to keep our surroundings clean. Even roads, rivers, and natural resources have rights. Polluting them is a violation of those rights,” he remarked.
He further added that if society pays attention to preserving nature and respecting its right to remain clean, it would have a long-lasting positive impact on both ecology and the environment. He expressed hope that in light of the increasing environmental degradation, people will rise to the occasion and contribute meaningfully towards environmental conservation.
The CGPWA reiterated its commitment to promoting environmental awareness and civic responsibility through such initiatives.(KNS).
