Srinagar, Aug 23 (KNS): The Central government pensioners association Kashmir (CGPWA) Monday elected its new office bearers for the next 3 years in a closely contested election here.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that retired IAS officer GJ Nahvi was the election officer.

“In the unanimous choice retired IAS officer Muhammad Shafi Pandit was elected as president while Broadcaster writer and former ADG DD Dr Rafeeq Masoodi was as elected vice-president,” the statement reads. 

It reads that GN Kanth retired IAS officer, GH Kango former chief conservator of Forests, GM Wani former senior official of P&T deptt were declared elected as General secretary, Treasurer and Secretary respectively.

On the occasion, new elected president MS Pandit requested all central govt pendioners to become members as early possible and avail various facilities and benefits at its Wellness Centre Sanatnagar, which includes free medicines and consultations too.

Election officer GJ Nahvi thanked the outgoing body for their excellent cooperation in the conduct of elections in most smooth and professional way.

“The new elect body thanked and lauded him and the outgoing office bearers for their excellent work and assured all members that new body will try to live upto their expectations and hoped that they will carry forward the superb work done by them,” it reads. (KNS)
