Certificate Distribution Ceremony held at CDI Srinagar

Srinagar April 28:(KNS)  Certificate distribution ceremony was held at the Craft Development Institute Srinagar for the apprentices on completion of Skill Upgradation Programmes.

The ceremony was presided by the Director Handicrafts and Handloom Kashmir. The faculty members and other staff of the Institute were also present on the occasion.
 
The Director distributed the merit certificates among the apprentices who have completed the 3 months course on Pattern Making, Stitching and Cutting of garments. Certificates were also distributed among the apprentices who have successfully completed the one-month course in Digital Marketing and one month course in Basics of Design. The Academic Coordinator of the courses presented the performance report of the program at the event.
The Director congratulated the students and staff who completed the course and asked them to utilise the skill in the respective fields to enable them excel in the respective traits besides making it their source of income. He said that introduction of skill-oriented coursesis a great initiative to provide impetus to the youth especially those who couldn’t continue their formal education due to several reasons.
 
According to an official, the Institute had undertaken the free of cost Skill Upgradation programme in three different courses, wherein 43 out of 47 aspirants qualified the course.The Craft Development Institute is focused on the integrated development of the handicrafts sector by providing relevant craft education to young people and envisioning employment opportunities that will make it an attractive career option. CDI endeavours to renew the promise of hand-made crafts, give it new direction and drive the handicrafts industry towards inspired change.(KNS)
