Srinagar, Apr 8 (KNS) : The Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kashmir (CCIK) on Wednesday welcomed the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, describing it as a crucial step toward global stability and security.
CCIK President Tarik Ghani said the de-escalation of hostilities between the two nations is vital not only for peace in the Middle East but also for safeguarding international trade and economic interests. He noted that the temporary truce provides a critical window for dialogue and diplomacy to replace confrontation.
"Stability in the region is directly linked to global trade routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, which remains a lifeline for world commerce and energy supplies," Ghani said in a statement.

He expressed hope that the ceasefire would lead to a long-term peaceful resolution and urged all parties to engage constructively in negotiations. Ghani also prayed that the cessation of hostilities does not remain temporary, adding, "The loss of precious human lives on both sides must end, paving the way for lasting and meaningful peace." (KNS)
