Srinagar March 2 (KNS): The Chamber of Commerce and Industry kashmir CCIK has strongly urged the Government of India to take urgent and concrete steps to ensure the safe evacuation of students from Jammu & Kashmir who are currently stranded in conflict-affected Iran.
In a statement issued here, the president CCIK Tariq Ghani expressed grave concern over the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the Middle East, particularly in Iran.
CCIK noted that hundreds of students from Jammu & Kashmir, many of whom are pursuing higher education in medical, paramedical, engineering and other professional courses, are presently residing in different Iranian cities amid rising tensions.

CCIK stated that parents of the stranded students have made fervent appeals to the Government of India for immediate intervention to ensure the safe return of their wards.
CCIK expressed hope that swift and decisive action will be taken to ensure the safe and secure return of all students from the affected region at the earliest.CCIK also appealed people to mantain peace and harmoony.(KNS)
