Srinagar, Apr 11 (KNS) : The Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir (CCIK) on Saturday hailed Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha for his stern announcement of a crackdown on drug smugglers and peddlers, asserting that tough measures were the need of the hour to save the Union Territory's youth from the growing drug menace.
The LG had earlier in the day launched a 100-day 'Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir' campaign, vowing that "those destroying the future of our youth will not be spared."
Terming the move a decisive step, CCIK President Tariq Ghani said the people of J&K, and the country at large, have appreciated the LG's directive.

The CCIK assured the administration of its full support to the 100-day campaign, pledging to work shoulder to shoulder with authorities across villages and towns to curb the illicit trade.
In an appeal to all sections of society, the Chamber said the battle against drugs cannot be won by the administration alone. "Society must come together. We request all walks of life to step forward and join this fight," the CCIK said. (KNS).
