CCIK concerned over traffic chaos in Srinagar city

Srinagar April 18 (KNS):  CCIK said that the traffic chaos in Srinagar city has become a nuisance for people, especially shopkeepers, and traders. CCIK said that the Srinagar shopkeepers are the worst hit due to the traffic mess in the city.

The traffic mess has left the shopkeepers with zero business on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr. The shopkeepers always expect good business during the festival time but due to the total failure of traffic, the shopkeepers are quite dejected and concerned about their.

The CCIK said that the Department of traffic is a total failure, especially in Shehr-e-Khass (Downtown) where not a single traffic cop is found on roads to streamline the traffic. CCIK time and again said that traffic cops are much more busy checking documents rather than directing the traffic. It seems that traffic cops are much more interested in minting money rather than streamlining the traffic mess. CCIK requested LG administration to look into the matter seriously as there are only a few days left for the festival so that the shopkeepers and traders will do good business on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.(KNS)
