CCIK Calls for Safety and Essential Supplies Amid Border Tensions

Srinagar May 09 (KNS): In light of the escalating tension on borders, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK), Tariq Ghani, has made an urgent appeal to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to prioritize the safety and well-being of the people during this critical period.

Ghani emphasized the immediate need for comprehensive measures to ensure that essential services and emergency support are in place. He has called on the administration to urgently facilitate:

  • Supply of essential medicines
  • Uninterrupted power and water services
  • Availability of essential commodities including gas, petrol, and food grains

  • Full medical readiness in hospitals across the region

“The uncertainty and fear gripping the public require decisive and compassionate action. We must stand united above political affiliations to serve our people,” he Ghani stated.

The CCIK also underscored the importance of maintaining peace, stability, across Jammu & Kashmir and pledged its full cooperation with the administration. Ghani urged all stakeholders, civil society, and private sector—to work in close coordination to protect the lives and interests of the common people.(KNS)
