CCF Kashmir visits Tangmarg following fire incident in DFO office

Tangmarg November 21 (KNS): The Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Kashmir today visited Tangmarg to take stock of the situation following the fire incident that occurred on 19th November 2025, in which the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Office was completely gutted.


During the inspection, the CCF assessed the damage to official records, infrastructure and equipment. He directed the DFO to immediately float the tender for construction of the new office building at Tangmarg, which has already been approved under the CAPEX budget.

He further advised the DFO to complete the construction of the Inspection Hut by December, as sanctioned under the SASCI scheme, and to establish the office temporarily in the building provided by the District Administration until further arrangements are made.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The CCF emphasised the importance of restoring essential services without delay and assured full departmental support for rehabilitation and reconstruction. He also stressed the need for strict adherence to fire safety protocols across all forest establishments to prevent such incidents in the future.(KNS)
