‘All CBSE Schools of valley will come together under umbrella of Kashir Sahodaya’

Srinagar, Oct 15 (KNS): Selected schools of the valley affiliated with CBSE in Kashmir have come together under the rubric of Kashir Sahodya. Sahodyas are voluntary association of schools in a given area, who through mutual choices, have agreed to come together for a systematic and system-wide renewal of the total educational process. The collaboration aims primarily managing education, evaluation practises, mobilising human resources, professional growth of teachers, ensuring value-oriented atmosphere in schools and ensuring education has a vocational tilt. Till date, 260 complexes exist in the country which work together in an interactive and sharing relationship. The schools felt it was high time that the schools come together in a spirit of collaboration, and mutual respect to collective deal with various issues related to dealings with the government, parents, students as well as practises of curriculum.
The maiden session of this forum was attended by the principals of CBSE schools of the valley. It was held in the office chambers of Johnson P J, Principal G.D. Goenka School, Srinagar. Alistair R A Freese-Principal DPS Srinagar, Mehfoos Aslam-Principal DPS Budgam, Dr. M Ramachandran - Principal Doon International School, S.S Duha–Principal of Kendri Vidhalaya No. 1, Tazim Wahidi-Principal J K Police Public School, and Hilal Ahmed-Principal Minto Circle School were in attendance.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Alistair R A Freese, Chairman of Kashir Sahodaya, in his presidential address, explained the objectives and purpose of forming a vibrant unit of Sahodaya cluster at Srinagar. Johnson - incumbent Secretary of the Kashir Sahodaya, reported the progress of Sahodaya formation. He read out the constitution which was followed by a group discussion and approval of the bylaws.
Mehfoos Aslam, treasurer of the Cluster commenced the academic discussion particularly about the completion of current curriculum for 9th, 10th and 11th and the promotion criteria. S.S Duha briefed about marking scheme and promotion criteria of class 10th final examination to be held in February–March 2019.
Dr. M Ramachandran brought to notice new proposals of CBSE board for the next academic session such as novel initiative in Mathematics for Grade 10th. Tazim Wahidi made a reference about the forth coming national conference of CBSE schools’ Principals scheduled to be held at Lucknow from November 22nd for three days.
Hilal Ahmed concluded the interactive session by delving on the necessity of constituting Sahodaya complexes across the cause of teachers and students across the country. The meeting expressed its hope that all CBSE Schools of the valley will come together under the umbrella of Kashir Sahodaya. (KNS)
