Srinagar, Feb 20 (KNS): On the sixth consecutive day on Saturday, the consumers continue to put pressure on the CAPD department to rollback the recently implemented NFSA act in the state.
Men, Women, children from Srinagar’s Dalgate area assembled outside the Mumta Hotel and blocked the main road. The protesters didn’t allow any vehicle to pass thereby led to the disruption of traffic movement in the area.
The protesters were chanting slogans like ‘we want justice’ and are demanding its rollback as soon as possible.
The protesters told KNS that despite tall claims of authorities to give benefits to the people under the recently implemented NFSA act, the “black law” was designed at starving the people of Kashmir.
He said that the implementation of NFSA act is a glaring example of discrimination with the people of Kashmir. “We have been forced to come on streets. The authorities should rollback the recently implemented black law in the state,” protesters told KNS.
They said that the concerned ration depot is empty and the officials have closed down the depot. “Our monthly ration quota has been finished but the government is reluctant to provide ration to us,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, the residents of several north Kashmir areas also staged demo against NFSA and demanded rollback of NFSA.
The areas including Kralpora Chowkibal, Khuddi, Potushahi Lolab, Haril Langate areas of north Kashmir blocked the main roads and said that they are being pushed to walls. “Despite announcing five kgs or ration, the authorities are providing only three kgs thereby leaves us to suffer,” he said.
They said that necessary steps should be taken at earliest otherwise the consequences will prove dangerous to the state administration.
“By using such kind of tactics, the CAPD department is pushing its consumers to stage valley-wide agitation,” they said.
They said that the government is deliberately targeting rice eaters by using such kind of methods. “The protests against the department will continue till the recently implemented NFSA law will not be revoked,” they said,” they said.
The law was implemented in J&K on February 15, this year, guarantees five Kg rice per person for a month. A day after the act was implemented; the Valley continues to witness protests, demanding its rollback. (KNS)
