BUDGAM, Nov 9 (KNS): Campaigning for the 27 Budgam Assembly Constituency bye-election ended this evening as the district entered the mandatory silence period.
According to an order a copy of which lies with KNS, reads thatDistrict Magistrate and District Election Officer Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS) across Budgam district. The restrictions will remain in force from 6:00 pm on November 9 to 6:00 pm on November 11, coinciding with the polling schedule.

Under the directive, any unlawful assembly or gathering stands prohibited as per Section 189 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. No person is allowed to organize, attend, or address public meetings, rallies, or processions related to the elections during the restriction period.
Authorities have urged all political parties and citizens to adhere to the order to maintain law and order during the polling process.(KNS)
